ProMediaGear PLX3x Universal L-Bracket Overview
The ProMediaGear PLX3x Universal L-Bracket is perfect for cameras without a battery grip. It fits various camera sizes regardless of brand. You can attach it to either a full-frame or a crop-sensor camera.
The PLX3x is a small L-bracket at 3-inches only. Yet, it fits most of the camera models available in the market today. That being said, it is a good option if you have multiple camera bodies.
In addition, this bracket is compatible with Arca-Swiss clamps. This means you can use it with any tripod or monopod from other brands. But, it is best used with ProMediaGear carbon fiber tripods.
Moreover, ProMediaGear uses aircraft-grade T6061 Aluminum for this bracket. It is lightweight and durable. Plus, it has a black-anodized finish too.
There are two parts to this L-bracket. The vertical plate extends to fit the camera body. Unlike other brackets, the vertical part extends further to free up the cable ports. Besides that, the battery compartment remains accessible.
Lastly, this bracket has an integrated SS2 or QD camera strap port. With the right attachments, you can convert your camera to a tiny rig.
Despite the universal compatibility, cameras with battery grips do not work with the PLX3x. The vertical part is too short for the added height of the grip. However, the ProMediaGear PLX4X Universal L-Bracket is available for the same price.

I had a spare PBX3 Arca plate that I put on a recently acquired vintage Leica R5. Since PMG's L-brackets are a mandatory add-on for every camera I have, this was a welcome addition for my Leica. It's a little tall for this camera, but that's okay as it's a universal version and will serve my needs well. The ability to slide it out allows access to the controls on that side of the camera. Built like a tank, precisely machined and finished to PMG's high standards. Very happy to add yet another great piece PMG gear to my already large collection. LOVE IT!!

I got this plate so I could use it on my two different DSLR bodies and not have to buy a dedicated one for each camera. My initial concern was that it might not be as solid as the one-piece, dedicated L-bracket. However, this Universal L-Bracket is, as I said, ROCK SOLID! I'm able to quickly switch from landscaped to portrait orientation and this bracket holds my Nikon D750 with 14-24 zoom like it's nothing. I'm totally satisfied with this product, along with my ProMediaGear TR344L tripod! Thanks, PMG!
Leica makes an L type hand grip for the monochrome Q2, however it has no arca style mounting built in. So along comes PLX3X. This allows the use of the Leica hand grip as well as the arca style grip for both vertical and horizontal for use on a monopod and or tripod.
