Overview

The ProMediaGear PLNMBN10 L-Bracket for Nikon Z6 and Z7 works with the MB-N10 battery grip installed. This model is also compatible with the Nikon Z6 II and the Nikon Z7 II.

However, this grip does not work without a battery grip installed. This is due to the vertical part being longer than usual.

An L-bracket allows you to change the camera's orientation quickly. You can shift from horizontal to the vertical composition without adjusting the tripod. Moreover, this Nikon L-bracket fits any compatible Arca-swiss supports.

In addition, mounting a camera vertically on an L-bracket provides a stable platform. The camera sits right in the middle of the tripod's apex. In the end, it is more stable and less prone to wobbles.

Another neat feature of this ProMediaGear L-bracket is its two-piece design. ProMediaGear separated the horizontal and vertical bar. Meanwhile, cheap L-brackets are made of a single aluminum block.

With the two-piece design, the vertical side can be extended or even removed. So if you only need the horizontal plate, then it is possible with the PLNMBN10.

ProMediaGear manufactures this L-bracket from a solid Aluminum T6061 block. Plus, it has a black anodized scratch-resistant finish. Expect top-notch build quality and durability. Buy this bracket once and you are set for several years to come.

Just a precaution, if you are using the Nikon Z6 and Z7 without a grip, then this will not fit your camera. Luckily, ProMediaGear has one for you. The PLNZ67 L-Bracket works well with these cameras. The Nikon Z6 II and Z7 II use the PLNZ672 L-Bracket though.

Lastly, for PLNMBN11 L-Bracket fits the Nikon Z6 II and Z7 II with the Nikon MB-N11 battery grip installed. Do not forget to check out with either the SS2 or QD Strap port selected though. ProMediaGear will ship the brackets with the QD strap by default soon.

PLNMBN10 L bracket

I recently purchased a second Nikon Z7 with battery grip as a backup. I was very happy with the PLNMBN10 L bracket on my first Z7, so it was a no-brainer to purchase another. I primarily shoot landscapes on a tripod, so it is an invaluable tool for switching from landscape format to portrait. It is easy to access the battery compartment as well as the accessory terminal connectors. This is a great well made product made in the USA.

Hi Ed, thanks for sharing your experience! Glad to hear the PLNMBN10 L bracket is serving you well for your landscape photography needs. It's always reassuring when a product exceeds expectations, especially when it simplifies your workflow. Happy shooting!

Thank you,

Best L Bracket for Z6/Z7 with MB-N10

Works great with both my Z6 and Z7 bodies with the MB-N10 attached. Arca swiss edges fit great into all of my tripod ballheads. Seems very secure and stable.
The QD support is awesome!
Buying from promediagear.com was easy and shipping was fast!

Only minor gripe is that i have some concerns about how rugged the metal loop extension plate is: I could see this plate accidentally getting bent in harsh conditions. That being said, this L bracket has a QD socket which seems to be a better option than the loop plate; so I'm not going to take a point off for this minor gripe. But if you are buying this planning to extensively use the loop extension bracket, take a close look at the product pictures to see how its implemented.

Very happy! Just did my first portrait shoot with the Z7 / MB-N10 and the PMG PLNMBN10 bracket and it went better than I expected and I didn't once have any concerns about the stability or anything getting in the way.

BTW: FTZ mounted lens can be attached and removed without any issues here; which is another plus.

Great piece of gear!

Love my L-bracket. I live in Canada and I expect a bit of extra time for items that come from the US to clear customs before delivery. I don’t know what ProMediaGear does different, but delivery was so fast. As usual the gear is exactly as expected, solid, well thought out pro gear.

The best L-brackets

I have 6 PMG L brackets for my Z5, D850 and D500, two for each camera (one each used with battery pack/vertical grips and one each without). That alone should say something. They are all very solid, precisely machined to PMG's very high standards. They fit my cameras perfectly and I love the built-in features: 1) magnetic storage for the allen wrench. 2) the slide out portion makes it even easier to access ports and position the camera vertically without interference from cables. I index marked the 2 rods with a silver pen so I can quickly and consistently reposition the upright portion of the bracket. 3) strap loops compatible with traditional straps and quick release designs, including Peak's wonderful straps. 4) QD/SSP strap ports making these even more versatile. PMG's L brackets are the first accessory I buy with every new camera.
