I was amazed at this gimbal

I am a happy owner of a Katana Jr. and I just acquired the GT2 Tomahawk. What a remarkably light gimbal, but so sturdy and made to the highest standards. I put it on my PMG BH50c60 Ball Head. It works with the ball head seamlessly. I highly recommend this combination. No Wimberley sidekick for me anymore! I love ProMediaGear too much. The GT2 is making its first big trip for elk in three weeks. I know it will preform admirably.

    Hi Donna,

Wow, that's an awesome set up! Thank you for writing a review and for your support with our products!

    Thank you,

Light, smooth and great with monopod

I have been using the Tomahawk GT2 on a monopod and I have to say, it’s brilliant. I was expecting the off-axis position of the camera to be an issue but it’s not. The tension controls give me a lot of control and the side mount takes off more than half a kilogram compared to the Katana Jr (also a brilliant piece of kit). The side mount actually makes this setup with a monopod, pro body and large telephoto lens very easy to carry over my shoulder while hiking longer distances. Everything is silky smooth and a pleasure to shoot with. I’m very pleased with my investment.

    Tomahawk review

I will be using my tomahawk on a monopod. The product is as advertised—high quality materials with attention paid to every detail. My old monopod is getting the deep six as a new ProMediaGear monopod is on its way to my door. The clamp works wonderfully to secure my 600mm to the monopod. I am anxious to use the tomahawk on a ProMediaGear monopod. I expect it to be top notch like all the other products used by my husband and I from ProMediaGear. Thanks to Tom and the others who have helped with every photographic need we have had in the past.

    Product top - Service flop

The two ArcaSwiss bases for vertical and horizontal mounting, each have 2 holes for safety screws. 2 of them screws are delivered and pre-installed in the product. When changing the direction of assembly, these must be loosened and screwed into the other base.
But one screw could not be loosened (Allen key hole was defective). In addition, I would like to have totally 4 of such security screws included so that you don't have to unscrew and screw in again every time you change the alignment.
I asked PMG how to solve the broken screw - no answer.
I wanted to buy 2-3 additional screws so that I have prepared for both types of assembly. These screms (4-40 / 3/16") are so small that they would fit perfectly into a very small bubble envelope - with shipping costs under $10; but PMG wanted $42 shipping. have reimbursed.
I really don't understand such customer-hostile support. What a pity!

I (from Europe) finally found such screws to buy at Etsy in Canada for $11, including shipping.
