So here is my take, I have done a lot of research prior to finding this L Bracket and compared to existing options out there and this one surpassed all that exist, all though it isn’t the least expensive bracket it definitely is the best one for your money! Pros: Size (Perfect fit in hand) I can also still hold the vertical grip comfortably which was the most important thing. Weight (I like it a bit heavier some may not but that’s my preference) The handle part is shifted forward and doesn’t interfere with the Camera Ports The top cold shoe mount or screw port option is brilliant. I also like how the handle part is adjustable and interchangeable with other elements Cons: Weight ( but like I said that’s a preference) Only has 1 screw port would have preferred a 2 hole setup for a 501 plate that way it doesn’t slip or rotate on tripod The cold shoe mount corner can be sharp if you catch the corner of it, so more rounded. But that could just be a machine fix. Ive looked at all the options and searched, watched reviews and this has the best, and pro media gear has always produced the best most reliable machined gear! Very happy!

Upon using the product, you immediately become aware of how well engineered/designed it is. There is ample room to accommodate the camera’s articulation viewing screen as well easy access to connection ports. The module aspect of the grip provides greater flexibility and the attached cold shoe, accommodate other accessories. Prior to becoming aware of Pro Media gear I used a well known competitor’s equipment. I now check here first.

Well made and works perfectly

I chose this L bracket instead of one from other major manufacturers as I really liked the offset design of the L part on the left of the camera. My Canon R has an LCD screen that folds out and can be articulated and the designers at PMG did a great job of building a solid L bracket that allows the screen to fully move. I also like that it is easier to remove the battery from the grip than other models. The quality of construction is evident, the bracket has a good feel with smooth edges and corners. The Arca Swiss style mounts work perfectly with my tripod heads. I felt the price was very reasonable for the quality of workmanship and product design.

L=bracket for EOS R/R5 with grip

This is the first product I have purchased from PMG. I have L-brackets from RRS and Kirk. I am very impressed with the PMG both in quality as well as innovation. The others don't support the rotating screen well on the R, but the PMG bracked does. I was concerned that the more bulky design would be a downside, but other than being harder to fit into a bag I have fount it not to be a significant problem. In fact, it provides an excellent handle to carry the camera. And of course the vertical portion can be removed if desired to reduce that bulk. I also discovered something rather to my surprise--it fits my new R5 with grip perfectly! It does hinder the front ports (flash, headphones, microphones) a bit, although I suspect they could be used by pulling the vertical portion out a bit more. If you have right angle connectors that would also solve the problem. Besides, the only one you might want to use with the vertical portion of the grip is the flash connector, which are usually small and right-angle (the other ports are for video where you should always shoot horizontal).
