While browsing the website, I happened upon the PMG policy change to support only the QD system in the future and immediately jumped on the chance to have my two PMG L-bracket plates with SS2 converted. The new policy was unfortunate in the sense I preferred the SS2 standard over QD, but with the rest of the industry standardizing on QD (I already owned a couple of QD brackets from other manufacturers), I certainly understood the logic for the change. I also didn't want to create issues with future purchases from PMG by having a mix of SS2 and QD. Because I was out of the 120-day "free" window, I placed my order for the conversion and very quickly received a pre-paid mailing label via email. I packed the two brackets and off they went the next day. I don't recall the exact number of days, but I had my two brackets back within two weeks including the transportation time to and from PMG. I am now very anxious for PMG to produce a QD-version of their SS2 plug. There are, of course, QD plugs available from other suppliers, but the PMG SS2 plug was so much nicer, that I'm holding out for the PMG version. I also thank PMG for even making this inexpensive conversion program available. They could have just said, "Sorry" and made their customers repurchase equipment with the QD standard, but this program will obviously save photographers with existing equipment a boatload of money if they want to stick with a single, QD, standard.
