What is a battery pack?
There are several types of lighting setups. Flashes, strobes, or continuous lights are used for photo and video shoots. These lights are either battery-powered or can be plugged into an outlet.
Some of the battery-operated lights can be powered by external battery packs. These packs can carry more juice compared to regular batteries. It also means that there is less downtime when changing batteries.
Why use a battery pack cage?
The downside to using battery packs is their size. These external power sources are large and bulky. Some are even larger than the whole camera body.
A battery pack cage holds the battery pack and clamps it into a light stand or a pole. It protects the battery pack from drops. At the same time, it clears up the cables and helps keep the shooting space neat.
