The ProMediaGear TRS344L Pro-Stix Carbon Fiber Tripod is the compact version of the TR344L. The main difference is the compact flat apex. This reduces the overall folded diameter of the tripod making it perfect for travelling.
The TRS344L has a max load capacity of up 60 lbs, which is plenty for most camera setups today. It has a standard tripod head mount and when folded, it only measures 23.8-inches.
Another feature carried over from the larger ProMediaGear tripods is the 1/4 turn twist locks. This means you do not have to fully twist the locks to unfold the tripod.
Moreover, the three legs can be extended individually. The tripod's minimum height is 3.8 inches and it has a maximum height of 71 inches.
If you are using it on soft ground, you may unscrew the built-in spikes for a more planted setup. The rubber feet may be used on smoother areas.
Like other ProMediaGear products, the TRS344L is made in the USA. It also comes with a 5-year warranty for your peace of mind.

I had a specific need for a compact tripod, that had good extension with no centre column that would fit inside a 1650 Pelican case: The Pro Media Gear brand was familiar but I had not purchased anything from them prior. It's been soo good iv made more purchases from them!
Im familiar enough with manufacturing techniques to understand and appreciate domestic, small batch manufacturing - especially companies that design and make everything in house: something worth paying a premium for. Multi Axis CNC machines are epic and when paired with good engineering, can make some incredible products.
You can tell it's made with very high tolerances and the legs extend beautifully. I love the fit and finish: super solid and extends to a really excellent height (above head height for me at 6 foot tall). It's really lightweight but VERY sturdy, capable of handling everything I have including 400mm 2.8, on Nikon z9.
