ProMediaGear TRBU75 Half Ball Tripod Leveling Head overview
The ProMediaGear TRBU75 Half Ball Tripod Leveling Head is used to mount any flat base heads to a 75mm tripod bowl. It works with the ProMediaGear Bowl system. Plus, it is compatible with other brands.
This tripod level head works with any 75mm bowl adapter. In addition, it works with other tripods with a 75mm bowl. This means you are free to use any tripod that you have.
Using it is easy too. Just rotate the knob to loosen the half ball. Then, twist the other way to secure it in place.
If you need a bowl adapter, then you may purchase the ProMediaGear TRHH2 Hi-Hat. This Hi-hat comes with the TRBU75 leveling head. You can easily transform any tripod that you have. Compatibility is not an issue as it has a standard tripod mount.
Durability-wise, ProMediaGear uses T6061 Aluminum for this leveling head. It is lightweight, yet durable. The weight helps in keeping it as portable as possible.
I recently got the leveling ball for my tripod. Prior to receiving it, I would have to achieve level by lowering a leg or two, in increments, which is not ideal. Now, all I have to do is get close to level with the legs and finish off with the leveling ball. What a time saver! This device is a life saver when trying to achieve level with the Katana Jr. The Jr. has a nice big leveling bubble that is easy to look down on so the leveling ball is a cinch to adjust with. No more wonky horizons when panning. The picture of the eagle that is attached was taken with the Katana Jr. And the leveling ball. I snapped off 10-15 frames before the eagle disappeared and I think at least 3/4 were sharp. I owe a lot to the Katana Jr. and now, also, to the leveling ball.
Thanks for another great product ProMediaGear.
P. S. I have reviewed a number of ProMediaGear products but ProMediaGear does not sponsor me nor have they provided any demo units. I purchased and own the PMG gear I have. All opinions are mine, accurate and honest. So far, every product I have purchased from PMG has met or exceeded my expectations for quality and performance.
Turely a must have for the GKJr or it’s big brother GK. Speed and ease of set up is a no brainer. Quality machined product, I expect nothing less from PMG. Good job boys! Only drawback we lost the bag hook... :)
Haven’t really give it a real go besides setting up and playing around a bit. It will make gimbal leveling much easier in future!
Very useful for leveling my custom panorama head, really easy to use and very positive locking. I thought I may have issues with slippage when unscrewing heads from it but no issue at all! Light and compact, easy to retrofit to my TR344L tripod.
