PLSA74T Arca-Swiss L-Bracket for Sony A7 IV Overview
The ProMediaGear PLSA74T Arca-Swiss L-Bracket for Sony A7 IV is made of CNC machined aluminum. It is durable, lightweight, and fits both camera models perfectly. It also has an offset vertical part so you can freely move the articulating screen.
This L-bracket allows for quick changes from portrait to landscape orientations. The camera position does not alter the composition drastically. Instead, you can adjust your composition without moving the tripod head.
Moreover, the PLSA74T fits all Arca-Swiss compatible clamps. Yes, other brands included. This makes it an excellent choice as an L-bracket for your Sony camera.
In addition, this ProMediaGear L-bracket has a sliding vertical piece for quick side port access. Other models block the cable ports. But, ProMediaGear designed this bracket for quick port access. Also, you may still access the battery port easily.
ProMediaGear added tons of extra features too. There are precise centering lines for panoramas. Then, if you have lots of accessories, the extra 1/4-20" mounts are perfect. Plus, this bracket even has an integrated magnetic Allen wrench storage.
Lastly, you may add the ProMediaGear A10 port protector for added security. This prevents the cable from getting removed while in use. This is helpful when the camera is stable and tethered.
If you are looking for a Sony A7 IV L-bracket then look no further. The ProMediaGear PLSA74T L-bracket has everything that you need. It is durable, lightweight, and custom-fitted for both models. Ultimately, you get a 5-year warranty too!

The L-bracket is well-built, well-designed, and not too heavy. It fits perfectly on my camera and I appreciate that the offset vertical component allows me to access the side ports easily and flip the screen out without interference. The bag it came with was a nice bonus as it allows me to store it without getting scratches on it. I also like how the hex wrench is stored underneath the bracket rather than on top. I just wish the scale printed on the vertical component accurately showed the center of the sensor for my A7 IV. The main reason I purchased the L-bracket is to take panoramas without parallax issues, but without an accurately-printed sensor plane indicator, this is hard to do. That being said, this is still probably the best L-bracket for the Sony A7 IV.
This is by far the best L bracket I have used. The other brackets didn't work well because I couldn't access the ports on the left hand side of the camera. By shifting the vertical part of the L forward, all of the ports are readily usable. The only quibble is that the little attachment so you can use a conventional strap tied to battery compartment side (on the A7IV) blocks fully opening the battery compartment door. But I don't use that and I suspect you could bent the attachment slightly so it would likely work.
As far as service goes, everything went smoothly. My one question was answered in 24 hours. First time I bought ProMedia Gear but I am sure it won't be my last.
Promedia Gear have designed and produced a perfect L-bracket. I've used a number of different L-brackets on my Sony cameras, but this one is the best by far. It's unique offset design allows the camera's screen to fully articulate, and allows for unimpeded access to the port covers on the left-hand side of the camera when shooting in portrait mode using a remote shutter or other devices with cables. Other l-brackets I have used require the upright portion to be set some distance away from the camera to be able to plug cables into the camera's ports, which decreases stability when in portrait mode. It's also built like a tank! Another innovative product from PMG!
Ordered and shipped on the same Day. Super-Fast Service. Love the design and excellent quality of this L-bracket. As with ProMediaGear Products it’s very well made, with beautiful finish, and I’ve come to love the offset feature. The bracket is study, solid and secure. Easy access to camera ports, connections, memory cards, battery and it even has a built in Cold Shoe, and on top of it all the new Flip out Screen can be used in any orientation. With this bracket now I can shoot tik-tocks in vertical portrait mode on my Tripod.
ProMediaGear - You guys' ROCK!!!
PROS: Made in USA; Rock solid stability and rigidity; Forward-shifted vertical section won't block A7IV port doors and flip-out screen, is closer to center of mass in portrait mounting, and doubles as a left-hand grip; Magnetic hex key storage location does not add height to the base plate like on cheaper brackets.
CONS: Vertical sensor plane indicator is inaccurate for A7IV; Vertical section shifts when sliding rods are being locked; Design of base plate results in A7IV battery door getting blocked by PMG accessories like PASL1 Strap Loop and PAH1 Bracket Plate Adapter;
OTHER THOUGHTS: Because of the forward-shifted vertical section, a camera with this bracket attached no longer fits into conventional "T" shaped slots of camera bags. Best to detach the entire bracket before storage, because the vertical section is not designed to be quickly removed and reattached. Even while separated from camera, this bracket's "3D" shape requires much more space in bag than a traditional L-Bracket. These are not cons as they are the tradeoff of the forward-shifted vertical component feature.
