Overview

The ProMediaGear PLCR56 L-Bracket for Canon EOS R5 and R6 is made of CNC machined aluminum. It is durable, lightweight, and fits both camera models perfectly.

This L-bracket allows for quick changes from portrait to landscape orientations. The camera position does not alter the composition drastically. Instead, you can adjust your composition without moving the tripod head. Furthermore, the offset allows the full articulation of the LCD screen.

Moreover, the PLCR56 fits all Arca-Swiss compatible clamps. Yes, other brands included. This makes it an excellent choice as an L-bracket for your Canon R5 or R6.

In addition, this ProMediaGear L-bracket has a sliding vertical piece for quick side port access. Other models block the cable ports. But, ProMediaGear designed this bracket for quick port access. Also, you may still access the battery port easily.

ProMediaGear added tons of extra features too. There are precise centering lines for panoramas. Then, if you have lots of accessories, the extra 1/4-20" mounts are perfect. Plus, this bracket even has an integrated magnetic Allen wrench storage.

Lastly, you may add the ProMediaGear A10 port protector for added security. This prevents the cable from getting removed while in use. This is helpful when the camera is stable and tethered.

If you are looking for a Canon R5 or R6 L-bracket then look no further. The ProMediaGear PLCR56 L-bracket has everything that you need. It is durable, lightweight, and custom-fitted for both models. Ultimately, you get a 5-year warranty too!

L Bracket for Canon R5

I had another L Bracket but could not use the full range of the screen. With the ProMedia L Bracket it is easier to tether to my laptop and the screen has full range of motion on my camera. My only wish is I wish there was a way to store the Allen wrenches on the bracket but that is minor.

Simply "The Best".... Quality L-Brackets!

I have used a variety of L-Brackets on Nikon, Fuji, Canon and Hasselblad and while they have "done their job" they all suffered various annoyances and quality issues and the 'L' side becoming loose being the main problem. So much so I could not trust them and had to remove them.

So I am very pleased to recount that the ProMediaGear L brackets PLCR56 for my R5 and PLX3T universal for my X1Dii are very robust and accommodating for access to ports and easy full use of the articulating screen. For portrait orientation the brackets are very sturdy and rigid enough that vibration at this point is a non issue. Also they don't come loose!

An unexpected bonus is the convenience of being able to use the left side of the bracket as an additional hand grip. It even feels nice and smooth like it was made for that. Just love it!!! Yes, a little more expensive but worth it.

Solid L bracket, great quality

I purchased the ProMediaGear L bracket for my R5 due to my previous L bracket having too much vibration. The L brackets with the cut out to allow the screen to tilt tend to vibrate. The ProMediaGear bracket reduces the vibration significantly. The quality of the bracket is very good.

The bracket is a bit bulkier than the L brackets that fit alongside the camera. There are great advantages to the ProMediaGear design, easy access to the ports on the side of the camera and it allows the screen to rotate completely.

The one difficult area that I have is that my canon RF 70 to 200 lens will not fully rotate while using the L bracket. The knob on the lens collar interferes with full rotation of the lens and camera. If I extend the vertical side of the L bracket the collar will clear the L bracket. While this is a drawback, the benefits of the reduced vibration far outweigh the inconvenience of the lens collar interference. I also use it with my 100 to 500 lens and it works flawlessly due to the lens collar being set further towards, the front of the lens.

I guess with any item there are always pros and cons. I don’t know if anyone can manufacture something that will work in all situations.

I am not writing this as a criticism of the ProMediaGear L bracket for the R5. I am just pointing out one of the situations I ran into.

I would buy this again over L bracket with the cut out for the rear screen rotation. I think this is a very good product.

L Bracket for my R5 Canon Camera

I first ordered the Really Right Stuff L-Plate(BH-RELPCER56) Set for my camera but I was not able to tilt my articulating screen, so returned this and contacted Pro Media Gear and I had a very helpful employee and we got the correct PLCR56 Arca-Swiss L-Bracket ordered and it fit great, works great and I am very happy with my purchase.

Landscape photographer on the side

I use this L bracket on my R5 a long with a behind the lens filter adapter. This bracket allows for full rotation of the articulating flippy screen. With the left side extended I have enough room to swap out the filters. I just wish the extension of the side bracket was a little bit easier/quicker while still being strong. Some kind of a detent with a thumb screw/ set screw maybe?
