YES, this is an “expensive”piece of gear when compared to other products on the market. YES, this product is UNEQUALLED in its ability for customization for the way YOU shoot/capture images. YES, I PLAN on purchasing an another BBG v2 Bracket for my 2nd body. I’ve shot everything from car shows to weddings and I’m pleasantly surprised by how few of these brackets I’ve seen in the wild. After a custom plate, a height extender AND a bracket around the accessory port (left side of the camera body), makes it my rig JUST FOR ME &the WAY I SHOOT. Biggest regret: I didn’t buy 2 of ‘em when I had the loot! Oh, by the way; I’ve got a Quantum T3 digital flash on this bracket! Nirvana!
Works, does what is supposed to do.. way overpriced. The “stand” is an afterthought, should be level with the bottom of the plate, it’s basically an add on screw and “foot”. For $300 I would have expected a better design that was a bit more elegant.. Functionally a bracket for less than 1/3 of the cost this will fit the bill. If I had it to do over , I would pass on this one to be honest..
Probably one of the most expensive accessories I have purchased - took me a long time to hit the buy button - along with the import taxes and duty charges but well worth it - having some great fun with it using the flash above and to the side of camera - the structure of the unit is very good - highly recommended
ok, I bought BBGv2 recently since both my R5/R3 are always have L brackets (L Brackets not from promediagear)
and grip on R5.. BBGv2 is well designed and I can just mount on my cameras easily and take both
landscape and portrait pics, easy transition from landscape to portrait.. Light weight and I took
more than 500 pics and I like them all. BTW I have only tried with my coiled flash cord to connect and did not
try w/ my remote trigger (but for on camera, I hardly use my radio trigger and the flash cord is so easy to use)
